About Us

My name is Ahmed Chaudary, and I am the founder and writer behind Measurementer.com. I am 22 years old and based in the United States. I hold a degree in measurement and evaluation, and I have been genuinely obsessed with measurements for as long as I can remember.

I know that sounds unusual. Most people do not think of measuring things as a hobby. But for me, it has always been one of the most fascinating and practical things a person can do. Let me tell you why.

How It All Started

When I was a kid growing up and playing cricket with my friends, we never had an official ground to play on. We just found an open space and started playing. But I always wanted our boundary to feel real, the way you see in international matches, where the boundary is 60 to 70 meters from the pitch.

So I did something my friends thought was strange. I measured my average walking step. I figured out exactly how far one of my steps covered, and then I walked the boundary of our makeshift cricket ground, counting steps in my head until I reached the right distance. We ended up with a boundary that was almost exactly 65 meters. My friends thought I was overthinking it. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.

That is how my mind works. I see space, I see objects, and my brain immediately wants to know the measurement.

My Hand Is My Measuring Tool

Here is something I am genuinely proud of. Over the years, I have carefully measured my own hand from multiple angles so that I always have a measuring tool with me, no matter where I am.

I know the width of my fist. I know the span from my thumb tip to my pinky tip when my hand is fully stretched. I know the length of each finger segment. None of these is perfectly precise, but they give me a reliable enough estimate for everyday situations.

When I am at a furniture store, wondering if a shelf will fit in my room, I use my hand. When I am shopping online, and a product says it is 4 inches wide, I hold up my hand and picture it immediately. When I am helping a friend with a DIY project, and we cannot find a tape measure, I become the tape measure.

This is exactly the philosophy behind Measurementer.com. You do not always need a ruler. You just need to know the right everyday references.

Why I Created Measurementer.com

I have a degree in measurement and evaluation, and I have spent more than 5 years developing a genuine expertise in how measurements relate to everyday objects. During that time, I noticed something frustrating.

When I searched online for quick answers like what is 6 inches long or what everyday object is close to 12 centimeters, the results were either too technical, too vague, or filled with objects that nobody actually had at home.

I wanted a site that felt like a knowledgeable friend giving you a straight answer using things you actually own and recognize. A dollar bill. A credit card. A soda can. Your own hand.

So I built it myself.

How I Research Every Article

Every article on Measurementer.com is the result of genuine research and personal testing. Here is my actual process:

First, I identify the measurement I want to cover. Then I physically go around my home and workspace with a ruler and measuring tape, and start testing objects against that measurement. I look for things that are accurate, common, and that almost anyone reading the article would actually have nearby.

I also cross-reference my findings with official manufacturer specifications, ISO standards, and trusted reference sources to make sure the measurements I quote are accurate and not just estimates. When I say a US dollar bill is 6.14 inches long, I am not guessing. That comes directly from the US Bureau of Engraving and Printing.

My goal is that every reference I give you is something you can actually use in real life, not just something that sounds interesting on paper.
